PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pneumatic tire 2 having a proper rigidity distribution without deteriorating durability. SOLUTION: This tire 2 comprises a tread 4 whose outer face is a tread surface 22, a belt 12 positioned inside the tread 4 and having a cord made of steel, and a band 14 positioned between the belt 12 and the tread 4 and having a cord made of an organic fiber. The tread surface 22 includes one or more main grooves 24 extending in a peripheral direction. The belt 12 includes an inner ply 36, and an outer ply 38 positioned outside the inner ply 36. The outer ply 38 is made of a plurality of members aligned in the axial direction. A boundary between one member and the other member adjacent to one member is covered with the band 14.
