A turbocharger for a vehicle is provided to raise efficiency by minimizing energy loss and to raise exhaust gas recirculation efficiency by increasing front pressure of a turbine. A turbocharger for a vehicle comprises a turbine(25) rotated by flow of exhaust gas discharged from an engine(10). A compressor(15) receives torque of the turbine through a rotating shaft to intake and compress external air. A boost pressure sensor(20) measures boost pressure of the compressor. A valve(40) is provided at an outlet of the turbine to open and close an outlet of the turbine. An actuator drives the valve. If the boost pressure measured by the boost pressure sensor is greater than predetermined boost pressure in high speed/load of the engine, an electronic control unit(30) drives the actuator such that the valve is shifted in the direction in which the outlet of the turbine is closed, thereby reducing an RPM of the turbine.
