PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a checking implement with which a pull ring of a pull string can easiky be operated, and which is simple in configuration and hard to be broken. SOLUTION: The checking implement for checking a lighting fixture by pulling the pull ring of the lighting fixture is provided. The lighting fixture has a checking switch from which the pull string for operating the checking switch droops, and the pull string includes the pull ring. A holding part 4 is made of a wire rod being bent in such a manner as to turn up the wire rod and, inside the turned up portion, a space H which allows the pull string to go through and makes the pull ring get stuck is formed. A guide part 5 is formed by extending both ends 5a and 5b of the wire rod composing the holding part 4, and guides the pull string to the holding part 5. The guide part 5 is formed in such a manner that: both ends 5a and 5b of the wire rod composing the holding part 4 are extended so as to be away from each other; an axis 6 protruding upward is formed on one end 5a; and the other end 5b is made insertable into the pull ring of the lighting fixture from which only the pull ring protrudes from the surface.
