PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pressing force-adjusting method for a pinch roll of a coil box in a hot rolling line which is capable of reliably preventing the meandering of a sheet bar to be recoiled from the coil box, a sheet bar meandering-preventing method, and method for manufacturing a hot-rolled metal plate using the preventing method. SOLUTION: When recoiling a rough-rolled sheet bar S after the sheet bar is coiled in a coil box 3, the pressing force of a pinch roll 5 rotating across the sheet bar S is adjusted at an outlet side of the coil box 3.
