PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mounting structure of an oil control valve (OCV) dispensed with its installing on a camshaft housing or a head cover and also reducing noise. SOLUTION: In this mounting structure of the OCV 64 of an engine 1, an alternator 20 disposed on the engine 1 on the chain cover 18 side is driven by a crankshaft 24 through a belt 28 to supply a hydraulic pressure from the control valve (OCV) 64 to an actuator 50 for valve timing variable mechanism installed at the end part of the camshaft 40 of a cylinder head 12. A cylinder head cover 14 is installed on the upper surface of the chain cover 18 and the upper surface of the cylinder head 12, and an expanded part 46 storing the actuator 50 is installed at one sides of the chain cover 18 and the cylinder head cover 14.
