PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a composition for the oral cavity, having excellent moisture-keeping effects and enhanced bad breath-preventing effects; and to provide an oral cavity-wetting agent using the composition for the oral cavity. SOLUTION: The composition for the oral cavity contains chondroitin sulfuric acid or a salt thereof, having moisture retaining properties and lubricating properties, and is preferably obtained by formulating an extract of Aspalathus linearis besides them.
