PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an eye opening/closing determination system that can prevent erroneous determination of eye opening as eye closing. SOLUTION: The eye opening/closing determination system 1 computes a correlation value between a coordinate group of an upper eyelid and a quadratic or higher order curve approximating the coordinate group. The eye opening/closing determination system 1 sets a larger eye opening/closing determination threshold if the correlation value is larger than a reference value than if the reference value is larger. The eye opening/closing determination system 1 next computes the curvature of the upper eyelid to recognize eye opening if the curvature is larger than the eye opening/closing determination threshold or recognize eye closing if the eye opening/closing determination threshold is larger. A small correlation value lowers the detection accuracy of the curvature of the upper eyelid. At eye opening, although a smaller curvature of the upper eyelid may be detected, the eye opening/closing determination threshold can also be set smaller to reduce the possibility of erroneous determination of eye opening as eye closing.
