PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To inexpensively provide a large-scale system LSI which needs complicated DMA control. SOLUTION: The data transfer device has a plurality of DMA controllers, a DMA end report signal peculiar to each DMA controller, a DMA control processor, a memory, a plurality of intra-processor register groups, a suspend instruction, and a resume function of switching the register groups by the DMA end report signal to restart the control. A command is received from a main CPU of system control, and the DMA control processor starts a DMA controller and then falls into a suspended state. The DMA control processor selectively uses the intra-processor register groups in accordance with a type of a restart request signal (DMA end signal) when restarted, whereby complicated DMA processing is realized by combination od simple single stream programs.
