<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a γ-amino butyric acid (GABA)-containing composition derived from a natural product found by searching natural products containing GABA in large amounts and to provide a food capable of reasonably taking GABA daily. <P>SOLUTION: The GABA-containing composition is obtained by adding water to asparagus and extracting GABA, and the like, from the asparagus or making an enzyme such as cellulase, hemicellulase, pectinase, arabinase, glucanase, dextranase, glutamic acid decarboxylase, glutamic acid decarboxylase or glutaminase act on the asparagus and carrying out solid-liquid separation of the reaction products, and the like, and the composition comprises 0.001-90 mass% γ-amino butyric acid, an amino acid and a water-soluble dietary fiber. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
