PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a low-profile socket and a pneumatic ratchet wrench using the socket. SOLUTION: In the socket and the pneumatic ratchet wrench using the socket, the socket is attached detachably to a female portion of an output gear of the pneumatic ratchet wrench. The socket has a coupling mechanism or a detent groove and the coupling mechanism is aligned and inserted into an opening of the output gear, allowing the coupling to take place within the pneumatic ratchet wrench to effectively reduce the height of the socket.
