A method for storing erase count number in a flash memory device is provided to use a memory efficiently by implementing an erase counter using only a flash memory without using an external memory. According to a method for storing erase count number in a flash memory device, the flash memory device allocated with a storage space capable of storing erase count number in a memory array is provided. A device command is inputted(201). A block address is inputted. The erase count number stored in the storage space is read(203). The read erase count number is increased(204). The erase count number stored in the storage space is erased as performing erase operation according to the erase command(205). The increased erase count number is stored in the storage space(206).
