RFID CHIP WITH IMPROVED RANGE, AND ANTENNA

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To expand the operation range of an RFID tag.

SOLUTION: Disclosed is a "coil-on-chip" RFID tag having an rfid integrated circuit and an antenna formed on a substrate at the same time. The antenna is a multi-turn coil formed in layers spirally having an axis of rotation directed at an acute angle or 90° to a main body surface of the rfid integrated circuit. The coil has a center opening portion having an annular core of a magnetically permeable material. The RFID tag has a wider operation range than a known ID tag.
