<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make time required for focus adjustment shorter than in the conventional manner. <P>SOLUTION: The imaging apparatus has an imaging part capable of focus adjustment, a distance measuring part configured integrally with the imaging part, a support part turnably supporting the imaging part and the distance measuring part, and a control part controlling the operation of the respective parts. The control part previously sets the lens position of the imaging part to a preset position determined according to a distance to a subject measured by the distance measuring part when the distance measuring part measures the distance to the subject after the support part turns the directions of the imaging part and the distance measuring part to the direction of the subject as the preliminary operation of the focus adjustment of the imaging part, and adjusts the lens position of the imaging part to a set position determined by analyzing the picked-up image of the subject temporarily picked up by the imaging part when the imaging part temporarily picks up the image of the subject as the regular operation of the focus adjustment of the imaging part. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
