PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make a capacitor compact to be used for a hybrid car etc. SOLUTION: The capacitor comprises an element 1 having plus and minus electrodes led out from both end surfaces, a metal case 2 containing the element 1 together with an electrolyte for driving and where one electrode of the element 1 is joined to an internal bottom surface, and a terminal plate 3 where the other electrode of the element 1 is joined to an internal surface to seal the opening portion of the metal case 2. The terminal plate 3 is provided with an annular wall portion 3a housing a portion of the element 1, the outer peripheral surface tip of the wall portion 3a is covered with the opening end of the metal case 2 with insulating rubber 4 for sealing interposed, and the outer peripheral surface of the metal case 2 nearby the opening end is drawn to seal the metal case 2. Consequently, a part for drawing and curling need not be provided to the peripheral edge of the terminal plate 3, so the terminal plate 3 can be made short to make the capacitor compact.
