PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the number of components and the number of contacts in the packaging area of a substrate, and to improve reliability. SOLUTION: Electronic equipment (cellular phone 2) is connected to an opposite party device (cradle device 3), having a section 50 to be controlled, where the execution of a function is controlled, a first signal line (signal line B), and a power supply section (Vb) connected to the first signal line electrically. The electronic equipment is composed of a second signal line (signal line A) connected to the first one electrically in the attachment to the opposite party device, a voltage control section 601 for changing the potential of the second signal line, and a control section 31 for detecting the attachment to the opposite party device based on a change in the potential of the second signal line occurring when the second signal line is connected to the first one electrically, generating a control signal for controlling the function execution of the section to be controlled of the opposite party device, and controlling the voltage control section based on the control signal to change the potential of the second signal line to potential controlling the function execution of the section to be controlled.
