<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus having more simple constitution, having quick responsiveness in switching between an exposure condition and a non-exposure condition for an imaging device, and achieving miniaturization. <P>SOLUTION: A single lens reflex camera 10 that is the imaging apparatus includes: the imaging device 5 having a light receiving surface 5a; a photographic lens 1 that is an optical system for forming a subject image by making subject luminous flux incident on the light receiving surface 5a of the imaging device 5; an AF sensor part 6 that is a detector for detecting characteristic showing a focusing condition that is optical characteristic of the subject luminous flux; and a rotating plate 2 that is a plate-like rotating body having an aperture part 2a in a first area for transmitting the subject luminous flux and a reflection mirror for a sensor 3 in a second area for reflecting the subject luminous flux and making it incident on the detector, and rotating on a plane crossing with the optical axis of the luminous flux, to make conditions corresponding to the first area and the second area.
