[Also in Division E2] A sliding clasp fastener of the type having continuous helical coil elements, has a hook 34 and eye 42 fastening of the top end of the stringer above the end stops. The end stops at the top and bottom of adjacent sliding clasp fasteners, in a continuous roll, together with the hook and eye of fastening are formed in a single moulding operation, in which the cord 16 on the stringer is impregnated with plastics. Subsequently surplus plastics and the centre of the eye (48) Fig. 2 (not shown) are removed in a stamping machine. |
