摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a catalyst for RuTe<SB>2</SB>based fuel cell which is of low cost and can substitute a noble metal catalyst such as platinum and demonstrates a superior catalyst action, and which is superior in applied voltage durability. <P>SOLUTION: This is a catalyst for the fuel cell which contains RuTe<SB>2</SB>as an active component, and the half width of a maximum diffraction peak in a region of diffraction angle 2&theta; (&plusmn;0.3) 27&deg; or more and 29&deg; or less by X-ray diffraction method (Cu-K&alpha; line) of RuTe<SB>2</SB>is 1.80&deg; or less. The RuTe<SB>2</SB>in which the half width of the maximum diffraction peak shows a specific value is superior in applied voltage durability, and realizes a catalyst for the fuel cell having a practicability capable of substituting a noble metal catalyst such as platinum. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
