<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a split wavelength plate filter excellent in pattern accuracy, uniform thickness and in-plane uniformity and having high reproducibility and high productivity so as to accurately handle the pixel part of a stereoscopic picture display device. <P>SOLUTION: A split wavelength plate material layer 3 is printed on a substrate 11 as a second base body, an adhesive layer 2a is formed in a specified pattern on a substrate 209 as a first base body and the split wavelength plate material layer 3 is transferred to the substrate 209 through the adhesive layer 2a to form a split wavelength plate 208 by transferring.
