<p>Domestic cooker spiral heating element production machine consisting of a circular base plate mounted on roller bearings on a central peg, from which it can be lifted off a vertical non rotating concentric pressure plate with feeding slot for the strip shaped workpiece material. The base plate has machined in its upper surface a planar spiral groove a little less deep than the width of the element material which is fed between the two discs into the groove, the lower disc being rotated by a peripherally applied force, whilst the pressure plate is preferable hydraulically loaded to form a flanged on the strip simultaneously during its bending operation. The strip is stress relieved in situ by direct resistance heating and then removed from the grooves in the lower disc by means of the magnetised upper disc which lifts it from the groove.</p> |
