<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sealed battery having high sealing capability. <P>SOLUTION: The sealed battery is equipped with a sealing body 10 which has a terminal plate 1 electrically connected to an electrode through an electrode tab 8; a terminal cap 5 having a projecting part 6 projecting to the outside of the battery; a rupture disk 3 interposed between the terminal plate 1 and the terminal cap 5 and shutting off the electrical connection between the terminal plate 1 and the terminal cap 5 by being deformed when inner pressure of the battery is increased; and an insulating member 2 preventing electric contact between the rupture disk 3 and the terminal plate 1 when the rupture disk 3 shuts off current, and a bottomed cylindrical outer packaging can 20, and an opening part of the outer packaging can 20 is sealed by crimp-fixing the sealing body through an insulating gasket 30.
