<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus having in its main body an environmental sensor for detecting environmental conditions, the apparatus being capable of appropriately controlling various conditions for image formation by detecting various environmental conditions inside and outside the apparatus body by the single environmental sensor. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus has in its main body 10 the environment sensor 20 for detecting environmental conditions. The image forming apparatus includes: an air flow control means 12 for switching the direction of a flow of air in the apparatus body.
