An abrasion detecting apparatus of a mechanical element allows the user to know whether the mechanical element is worn out over the limit without confirming the wear condition with the naked eye. An abrasion detecting apparatus of a mechanical element includes a pair of wires(160) which are built-in in a groove(125) formed on the friction surface of the mechanical element and are electrically isolated, a resin(170) which is charged in the groove and fixes the wires, and a signal generator(151) which is fixed to a link of a chain, electrically connected to the wires, and generates a signal when the wires are exposed and cut by the abrasion of a connection pin.
