PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric wire conductor which has an excellent mechanical strength (a tensile strength, a bending resistance) and a low conductor resistance and especially is suitable for use in an automobile wiring, and to provide an insulated electric wire in which the electric wire conductor is used. SOLUTION: In the electric wire conductor 2 in which stainless steel wires 2a and copper wires 2b are stranded, a weight ratio per unit length of the stainless wire 2a in the electric wire conductor 2 is 2% or more and 45% or less. In the center of the electric wire conductor 2, there are arranged the stainless steel wires 2a. An outermost layer of the electric wire conductor 2 is composed of the copper wires 2b. An elongation amount till fracture of the stainless steel wire 2a is one time or more and 4 times or less that of the copper wire 2b. The insulated electric wire is composed of the electric wire conductor 2 and an insulation coating 3 to coat the electric wire conductor 2. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
