The panel consists of an insulating layer (1) of glass wool between 15 and 100 mm thick and a weight of 30-70 kg/m<3>, covered on its exposed surface by a layer (2) of glass fabric, stuck on with a fire-resistant adhesive, a coat of paint (5) and a layer (6) of fibreglass mesh with a coating of a plastic such as PVC. The glass fabric has a weight of 40-80 g/m<2>, and the fibreglass mesh has a mesh size of 4-8 mm. The mesh layer is stuck to the painted surface of the glass fabric immediately after manufacture to fix it in place while it is drying.
