<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a simple and inexpensive suspended ceiling which prevents a member constituting the ceiling from being damaged, by inhibiting the ceiling from swinging during earthquakes. <P>SOLUTION: A diagonal member 20 is provided to transfer an inertial force, on the ceiling due to a disturbance, to a structural skeleton 24; and the diagonal member 20 and a supporting beam 14 for supporting the ceiling are connected together by a connecting means 42. The connecting means 42 is provided with holding members 46 and 48, and an energy absorbing means 50. The inertial force on the ceiling due to the disturbance is transferred to the supporting beam 14, the energy absorbing means 50, the holding members 46 and 48, the diagonal member 20 and the structural skeleton 24 in this order, and concentrated on the connecting means 42, so as to make the supporting beam 14 and the holding members 46 and 48 relatively displaced in a horizontal direction. Vibrational energy, which brings about this relative displacement, is absorbed by the energy absorbing means 50. Thus, the response displacement and response acceleration (the inertial force) of the ceiling, which are caused by the disturbance, can be reduced to prevent the member constituting the ceiling from being damaged. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
