METHOD OF DRIVING PLASMA DISPLAY PANEL

A driving method of a plasma display panel reduces unnecessary power consumption and improves the efficiency of light emission when the number of the cells to be lighted is relatively small. A sustain pulse assigned to sub frame is switched from a first sustain pulse to a second sustain pulse according to the display rate. In the first sub-frame, the first sustain pulse is applied to the display electrode in case the display rate is within the first numeric value range. The second sustain pulse is applied to the display electrode in case the display rate is out of the first numeric value range. In the second sub frame different from the first sub-frame, the first sustain pulse is applied to the display electrode in case the display rate is within the second numeric value range. The second sustain pulse is applied to the display electrode in case the display rate is out of the second numeric value range.
