PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a digital broadcast receiver capable checking and viewing again a past event viewed a comparatively short time ago (for example, several minutes ago) by simple operation. SOLUTION: When an event broadcast ranging over a plurality of events is registered as a preferred event at the digital broadcast receiver, the event is registered as a series event. When the series event is broadcast next time, it can be automatically registered as the preferred event. A digital broadcast signal of a channel offering the event can be received, based on an event selection operation while a preferred event guide containing the registered series event is shown.
