PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus that can be further reduced in size by reducing power consumption. SOLUTION: An imaging apparatus comprises: a memory which is provided between a series of analog processing systems in which a pixel signal is acquired by an image pickup device to convert the pixel signal into digital data and a digital processing system for processing digital data into prescribed image pickup data and temporarily stores data for prescribed processing units; and a control means which operates the analog processing systems at a highest speed clock of the analog processing systems, operates the digital processing system at a clock corresponding to a frequency determined from the bandwidth of a transmission system transmitting the image pickup data, and exclusively controls processing operation for the prescribed processing units by the analog processing systems and processing operation for the prescribed processing units due to the digital processing system.
