PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a face detection system and a face detection method for detecting a human face at a high probability. SOLUTION: A face matching system 1 has a camera 3, a face detection terminal 4 and a display 5 which are installed near a store entrance 2. In addition to them, the system 1 has a face matching server 6. When a pedestrian P walks on a path toward the store entrance 2, an image that can easily attract the attention of the pedestrian P is displayed through a display 5, and the camera 3 installed near the display 5 photographs a front face image of the pedestrian P.
