<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic stopping device of a vehicular engine capable of rapidly providing sufficient auxiliary steering force at a re-start of the engine while reducing motor noise of an electric power steering device when the engine is automatically stopped. <P>SOLUTION: The automatic stopping device of the vehicular engine comprises an automatic stop control means 100 which automatically stops an engine 1, and separately performs the combustion restart and the starter restart, an electric power steering device 70, and an electric power steering device control means 120 which controls the rotational speed of the motor of the power steering device during the automatic stop to be the first rotational speed Ns1, and controls it to the second rotational speed Ns2 (>Ns1) after the restart condition is established.
