PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a step for a vehicle capable of increasing resistance to an excessive input. SOLUTION: A buffer mechanism 132 is provided in a transmission path 131 for transmitting a shock inputted into a step body 11 to absorb the shock by the buffer mechanism 132 while the shock is transmitted to a driving motor 32 through the transmission path 131. Since the shock is absorbed by the buffer mechanism 132 provided between an arm 42 and a gear 41 for driving the step body 11 at this time, it is possible to prevent the shock from being concentrated to a gear 94 and prevent a tooth of the gear 94 from being broken.
