A method and an apparatus of automatically dispensing tablets using a half tablet input device are provided to improve work efficiency by packing and discharging half tablets together with general tablets. A method of automatically dispensing tablets using a half tablet input device(4) includes the steps of: storing half tablets in the half tablet input device; mounting the half tablet input device to an automatic tablet dispenser(1) to transfer the half tablets from the half tablet input device to a packing device(3) of the automatic tablet dispenser; and supplying general tablets from a tablet cassette(22) to the packing device while vibrating an alignment plate(4') of the half table input device in order to transfer the half tablets to the packing device according to a prescription.
