PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device driving method and a liquid crystal display device which can suppress edge burn without depending on a peripheral temperature even when a video of high contrast is displayed on a display screen for a long period. SOLUTION: A driving voltage for symmetrically inverting the polarity of a voltage to be applied to liquid crystal 32 to the positive pole side and the negative pole side is applied to drive each pixel P, and in displaying a video on a display screen, the driving voltage Vs is applied to the pixel electrode 267 so that the voltage of one polarity side may be applied to the liquid crystal 32 in a prescribed gradation value near to a minimum gradation value or a maximum gradation value.
