The present invention generally relates to the control of fluid flow in a wellbore 10. In a first aspect, a flow control device/apparatus 100 for use in a wellbore 10 is provided. The flow control device 100 includes an inner member 110 having at least one aperture 140 formed therein. The flow control device/apparatus 100 also includes an outer member 105 disposed around the inner member 110 such that a flow path 120 is defined between the inner member and the outer member. Additionally, the flow control device/apparatus 100 includes an elastomer member 125 disposed within the outer member 105 adjacent a portion of the flow path 120, wherein the elastomer member 125 is capable of swelling upon contact with an actuating agent, e.g. water, gas. In another aspect, a method of controlling fluid flow in a wellbore 10 is provided. |
