PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To keep the security of a vehicle from decreasing by preventing a security system from malfunctioning. SOLUTION: In a vehicle 10, an ECU 100 executes a security system control process to control the operating state of the security system 500. In this case, the ECU 100 executes an obstacle detection process to detect obstacle candidates from objects detected by a forward-looking millimeter-wave radar 300. In the obstacle detection process, for each of the objects detected, reflected wave strength Pr is compared with a threshold value S1 and obstacles with the strengths equal to or greater than S1 are regarded as obstacle candidates. Next, a determination is made as to whether or not a structure that is likely to cause errors in obstacle detection exists on the route of the vehicle 10; if such a structure exists, for the objects determined to be obstacle candidates beforehand, their reflected wave strength Pr is compared with a threshold value S2 greater than S1, and only the objects with the reflected wave strengths greater than the threshold value S2 are formally regarded as obstacle candidates.
