A dowel to be inserted into an opening of a wall in a vehicle body is provided to achieve superior liquid-tight sealing by sealing the inner surface of the wall with expanded plastic material. A dowel(10) to be inserted into an opening(12) of a wall(14) in a vehicle body comprises a handle(16), a flange(18) adjacent to the handle, and a sealing unit(20). The handle extends through the opening at the state the dowel is inserted into the opening. The flange is made of a first material and the sealing unit is made of a second material, where the second material is plastic which is expanded at high temperature condition to seal the opening. The sealing unit is integrally formed with the handle. |
