PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an expansion joint device for a concrete slab which has a large amount of expansion, which can increase stiffness, and which cannot be easily removed even though it can be freely attached and detached. SOLUTION: A pair of support members 7 which are nearly L-shaped in cross section are brought into contact with each of the ends of the concrete slabs 2 which are placed opposite to each other. A joint member 8 is sandwitched between the pair of support members 7 and is fixed to them. The joint member 8 has a two-layer structure having a plurality of cross section spaces inside, and expands elastically. Then the support members 7 are connected by a bolt/nut to a fixation member 6 which is fixed and supported to the concrete slab 2. The joint member 8 is constituted so that it does not come off, and expands by maintaining a horizontal state through the medium of the support member 7 along with the change in the pore of the clearance 3 of the concrete slab 2.
