PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tool holder for carrying out an ultrasonic machining operation capable of achieving high machining accuracy and high reliability. SOLUTION: The ultrasonic tool holder 1 is composed of a vibration driving section 2, a chuck plate 4, and a tool mounting shaft 5. The vibration driving section 2 is configured by joining six rectangular piezoelectric ceramics 3 using epoxy resin on the outer periphery of a regular hexagonal rod made of stainless steel. The tool mounting shaft 5 is provided on the tip end of the regular hexagonal rod made of stainless steel so as to mount a tool 6. A round rod shape chucking rod 4 to be held by a chucking device is provided on the rear portion of the regular hexagonal rod made of stainless steel. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
