PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an easy-to-use position display apparatus in consideration of relation between a function of displaying a position on a map which is added to a cellular phone and its original communication function. SOLUTION: When the position information of an external communication device can be received by a short-range communication means and displayed on a map of a user, this is notified when the user makes a phone call. When, the other party enters the service area during speech, this is also notified. The notification of the short-range communication is distinguishable from an incoming call. When the external communication device is within the service area, this is notified, if it is the party at the other end of line. Otherwise, notification is suspended until the user makes a call. Notification of request for short range communication from the external communication device is distinguished from the notification of the external communication device being within the service area.
