PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a chitosan matrix having excellent cell adhesiveness and readily proliferating cells. SOLUTION: The chitosan matrix is composed of a fiber aggregate of chitosan fibers formed by electrospinning etc., and obtained by dipping at least the surface of the chitosan fibers in a solution containing a sulfonated chitosan and adsorbing the sulfonated chitosan or carrying out a sulfonating treatment of the chitosan fiber aggregate and thereby forming the sulfonated chitosan on the fiber surface.
