摘要 <p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a laser light source device with which reduction in power of output light is efficiently suppressed, of which the efficiency of using light is high, with which a stable output is obtained due to alignment of polarization directions of the output light, and with which a diffusion optical member is downsized, and image display device and monitor device. <P>SOLUTION: The laser light source device 31 is equipped with a light source 311, a wavelength conversion element 312, an external resonator 313, and an optical path conversion element 314. The wavelength conversion element 312 is arranged in a resonance structure. A second laser beam LS2 is taken out into a second optical path O2 via the optical path conversion element 314, is directed into a direction nearly identical to an advancing direction of a first laser beam LS1, and is utilized together with the first laser beam LS1 as output light. When a width in a direction parallel to a line normal to an optical axis of light passing through the wavelength conversion element 312 is represented by W1, and a distance between the optical axes of the first laser beam LS1 and the second laser beam LS2 on an end face of the external resonator 313 side is represented by W2, inequality W2<W1 is satisfied. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT</p>
