A lay-up method of a main boiler for an LNG ship is provided to allow a lay-up for a long time by performing 4 times of boiler ignitions per two months as a short term lay-up and filling chemicals, nitrogen gas, and water as a long term lay-up to prevent a corrosion of the main boiler. A lay-up method of a main boiler for an LNG ship includes the steps of: removing moisture inside of the main boiler for lay-up of the main boiler for a long time; performing a short term lay-up to remove the moisture inside of the main boiler by igniting the main boiler during two months at an interval of 2 weeks for inspecting an operation; forming a magnetite protection layer by chemical processing a steam tank and a water tank for preventing the boiler from being corroded due to moisture of sea water for a long time; and constructing a long term lay-up to protect by filling nitrogen gas inside of a drum.
