The bicycle has an arm drive with arm levers (6.2, 6.3), and a leg drive such as front wheel (22) and rear wheel (17), where the arm levers are supported in a frame. A handle bar has a position sensor, such as joystick, and a position acceptor, where each of the sensor and acceptor has a hydraulic displacement unit such as hydraulic cylinder. The leg drive has two treads (8.2, 8.3) and two pedals, and the position sensor has a handle (6.7). The displacement units of the sensor and the acceptor are connected with a removable non-return valve by a hydraulic connection. An independent claim is also included for a method for driving a bicycle.
