[Class 69 (ii).] The control valve of the parent Specification is disposed in the lines connecting the pump and motor, and is adapted to serve as a distributing valve and to control means for varying the pump capacity. The control valve casing has ports 34, 38, Fig. 3, connected to the motor cylinder 9, a port 44 connected to a constant capacity pump 16, ports 58, 59 connected to a variable capacity pump 14, an exhaust port 63a, and a port 54 connected to a cylinder 51. When the valve is in its initial neutral position shown in Fig. 5, the ports 34, 38 are connected, and the high pressure liquid entering through the ports 58, 59 joins the output of the pump 16 and escapes through a relief valve 46. Rapid traverse forward is obtained when the valve is in the position shown in Fig. 6, liquid from the pump 16 passing via the hollow valve, chamber 71 and port 54 to the cylinder 51, thereby actuating a piston 52 to increase the output of the pump 14. Slow feed and rapid reverse traverse are effected when the valve positions are as shown in Figs. 7 and 8 respectively, and there is a final neutral position when the valve is in its extreme left-hand position. Normal and emergency actuation of the valve is effected as in Specification 378,009. |
