<p>The camshaft assembly comprises a camshaft 10 connected to a crankshaft via a camshaft adjuster 12 for adjusting an angular displacement between the camshaft 10 and the crankshaft. The camshaft adjuster 12 may comprise a chain wheel 12 and a spring 16 to force the camshaft 10 to a defined position. A sensor wheel 18 for measuring the angular position between the camshaft 10 and the crankshaft is provided, the sensor wheel 18 covering at least partly the camshaft adjuster 12, especially the spring 16. By using the sensor wheel 18 as a cap for at least partly covering the camshaft adjuster 12, a separate cap is not needed and the sensor elements can provide better and clearer signals and can be compactly integrated into the camshaft assembly.</p> |
