An apparatus and a method for automatically performing conversion into a photographing-available mode while charging a digital camera are provided to supply fast response performance to a photographing request of a user without an additional work that a digital camera user has to turn on power when the digital camera is charged in a full discharge state or a power-off state. An on/off confirming unit(110) checks a power on-off state of a digital camera. A photographing-available state confirming unit(120) confirms a photographing-available state of the digital camera. A camera booting command unit(130) boots the digital camera. A photographing-available state maximum standby confirming unit(150) confirms whether the photographing-available state of the digital camera exceeds the maximum standby time.
