<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To restrain scattering of toner and an increase in the temperature of a developing tank by sucking carrier and toner while separating them. <P>SOLUTION: A developing device 2 develops an electrostatic latent image formed on the outer peripheral face of a latent image carrier 3 rotated in one direction by use of developer composed of two components, which are toner and carrier. The developing device 2 comprises: a developing roller 202 conveying developer to the latent image carrier; a carrier recovery roller 220 disposed downstream of the developing roller in the rotating direction of the latent image carrier; a cooling means disposed on the bottom side of a developing tank and including a blowing path 240 for a current of air from one fan; a suction means disposed below a blower path, and including a suction path 250 for a current of air from a suction port 252 disposed opposite the latent image carrier and below the carrier recovery roller and used to suck scattered toner; a filter for removing scattered toner from air containing scattered toner sucked from the suction port; and an exhaust means including an exhaust path for a current of air sent to an exhaust port for exhausting air passed through the filter and air passed through the blower path. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
