<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To propose motor/generator control for more suitably generating power according to the operating state and traveling state of a hybrid vehicle without overloading an inverter. <P>SOLUTION: The hybrid vehicle is provided with an engine 1 and a motor/generator 5 as a power source, and allows selection between engine power generation for generating power by inputting regenerative torque from the engine 1 side to the motor/generator 5 and traveling regenerative power generation for generating power by inputting the regenerative torque from a wheel 2 side to the motor/generator 5.
