<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that servo is made unstable due to variation of a servo signal in recording and reproduction of facing information recording layers affected by variation of intensity of laser light transmitted or reflected by a part in the vicinity of a boundary of recorded and unrecorded regions of a multilayer recording medium. <P>SOLUTION: An optical disk system capable of performing stable recording and reproduction is provided, wherein a plurality of divided file areas are formed in two adjacent information layers via an intermediate layer of the multilayer recording medium, and an outermost peripheral radial position of the file area in a second information recording layer to be recorded second is separated from that in a first information recording layer to be recorded first inside by the film thickness of the intermediate layer or more. Thereby, unstable servo due to variation of contrast in a region facing the part in the vicinity of the boundary of the recorded and unrecorded regions is avoided. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
